I'm a database developer — I use SQL to create, maintain, and improve databases at a software development company.

I grew up around computers. My dad is a database administrator, so watching him work always made me want to do something similar. At first I tried web development, but once I worked with databases, I got hooked on the problem solving.

Now, I'm bringing back my original interest as I work on becoming a full-stack developer on top of database work. Passalong, a recipe app I'm building on the side, is where a lot of that practice happens.

Building websites for local businesses grew out of a passion for web development and wanting to help businesses around me.

Outside of work, my hobbies are cooking, video games, and reading — until September. Then it's NFL season, and rooting for the Steelers and praying for my fantasy team become my only hobbies.
